Project: Pop-Up is looking for retailers, artists, makers, and other small businesses ready to take their concepts for a brick and mortar test drive. Brands will have the opportunity to pop up at a subsidized rate, and be provided with access to a suite of resources to help seed their success, making this a CAN’T MISS opportunity!

Project: Pop-Up revitalizes communities with creative concepts, cultivated by local entrepreneurs ready to take brick and mortar storefronts for a test drive. Since its inception in 2021, over 75 emerging brands have popped up in locations across Massachusetts. Project: Pop-Up has partnered with 13 municipalities in over 20 locations—and this retail revolution is just getting started!

The Plant Design Studio

Weslie Pierre, founder and owner of The Plant Design Studio by Wesleaf, specializes in all things plants and decor. From her first Project: Pop-Up pilot store, which opened in the summer of 2021 in Needham, Wesleaf has continued to grow and expand. She now has a permanent lease in the space she first popped-up, 1020 Great Plain Ave., and has continued with new pop-up activations across the greater Boston area!

Project: Pop-Up is a public-private partnership initially piloted in Newton and Needham, Massachusetts, powered by UpNext to support local innovation and entrepreneurship. Thanks to its immediate traction, Project: Pop-Up expanded to new locations including Acton, Brookline, Burlington, Gloucester, Lexington, Lowell, Medford, Melrose, Wakefield, Wellesley and Westborough!  More opportunities are coming in 2026 and 2027!
