Why did you apply for Project Pop-Up?
We've called Melrose home for almost 13 years. As our daughters got more engaged in the community through school and sports, we never understood why such a vibrant and thriving city had to go to another town to purchase branded apparel. As an apparel designer, I simply could not understand the limited choices and high price point. After thinking about it for a couple of years, we saw an opportunity and decided to launch Mothership of All Design--an apparel and design firm to cater to all of Melrose's needs. Since we launched in 2018 as an online retailer, we have designed and printed apparel for all of the elementary schools, the Middle School and High School, most of the youth sporting teams and have even done custom work for other community groups. In addition to providing Melrose with a local source for apparel, we also use Mothership to give back to the community that has given our family so much. Specifically, we donate a portion of sales back to the schools and sporting teams from their spirit wear sales to help them provide additional enrichment to the children they are serving and recently designed a shirt for a beloved resident who recently passed away, and donated all of the proceeds to the scholarship fund her family started in her name.
